DPS provided professional architectural and engineering services in the form of programming support for this Cambridge, MA facility including project management, process and process architecture, and pre-construction services.
Project scope
DPS saw this new clinical manufacturing suite project as a series of iterative steps and began with the first phase in its ideation being programming/feasibility.
This phase allowed Evelo and DPS to fully develop the project definition, explore potential options for the suite, and establish the basic process architecture and develop an order of magnitude cost basis for the project. It also provided an assessment of project risks—a stage gate phased approach to provide key direction in a short timeline—without expending a large amount of consultancy hours.
At the end of the programming support phase, DPS laid out the full project roadmap and worked with Evelo in charting a path forward. DPS developed the program for the facility and helped establish the selected site’s suitability to the process as it stands, as well as future growth potential.
The deliverables of this programming phase were transferable and suitable for future use on other sites. DPS provided a project schedule and phased execution strategy to deliver a first class facility within the timeline and budget defined by the client.
