About this project
Project scope
The DPS scope of work involved market intelligence studies, local permitting, site due diligence and execution strategy for 3 potential locations in Europe. The purpose was to select the optimum location for local supporting infrastructure, logistics, constructability, cost and schedule requirements. The execution strategy focused on a fast-track build to deliver APH Receipts, Isolation and Cryopreservation, including supporting facilities, ahead of the main manufacturing suites, in a two phased project approach. The potential sites included retrofit and greenfield options and investigation of vertical and horizontal design philosophies.
After the selection of the preferred site in the Netherlands, DPS conducted the concept design and early environmental permitting scope of work. DPS was awarded the full EPCM contract in 2020 to design and construct the facility.
The facility is designed to meet the BREEAM Very Good criteria. One of the key sustainable aspects is that no primary fuel is used at the site, the whole facility is electrified without natural gas as an energy source.
The construction execution strategy looked at accelerated construction options such as modularization, contracting strategies and local contracting base to deliver a facility within 24 months. DPS were also engaged to procure all equipment and contracts for the facility.
